This pattern was given to me by the late Ghillie on the Netherby beat of the Border Esk, Kevin Hay.

I tied a number of them for him and after discussing the fishing on the Border Esk with a regular on the river, named the fly after his wife Margaret Linden.

The Lindens Fancy is a fly that needs to be retained in my range and it has proven highly effective on the Border Esk and many other rivers.
