This wool is perfect for using for the bodies and tails of fishing flies.

As a fly dresser I used to pull balls of wool to pieces to make my Francis Flies.

This unspun wool which is carded out to a slub, (the process for spinning).

This allows you to pull out a few inches off the ball and then either wynd it on or dubb into onto the body.

A drop of glue underneath created very solid flies.

As a former Carding Engineer I understood the spinning process and simple change makes it so much better for fly tying.
